On August 8, solidarity activists marched in front of the Myanmar Embassy in Makati City to commemorate the 35th Anniversary of the People’s Uprising in Burma (August 8, 1988). The Initiatives for International Dialogue, as part of the advocacy network of Burma Solidarity Philippines (BSP) and Asia-Pacific Solidarity Coalition and Milk Tea Alliance-Friends of Myanmar, joined other people’s organizations in chanting ‘Democracy in Burma now!’ while doing the 3-finger salute to echo the demands for ‘liberty, equality, and solidarity’ of the repressed peoples of Myanmar.

In the evening, BSP allied organizations promoted the same advocacies in an inspiring candlelight event at the Boy Scout Circle in Quezon City, Metro Manila.
