Gus Miclat, of Initiatives for International Dialogue and GPPAC Southeast Asia, talks about the value of a global network of locals such as the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC). He characterizes GPPAC as a network of locals in that they help disseminate ideas and experiences of its network to the highest levels of civil society engagement, yet at the same time, facilitates local partner communities share ideas with other communities found in different parts of the globe.
