Davao City launches multi-sectoral action on September 21, International Day of Peace. Part of the event was the “Barug Dabaw, Barug Kalinaw” silent march and tribute for peace and honoring all victims of violence, past to present. A solemn tribute to the victims of the September 2 Roxas night market bombing was also held with speakers calling for peace and justice. The event closed with a musical celebration of life with musical performances by noted artists such as Popong Landero, Joey Ayala and Aizza Seguera, backed up by local Davao bands. This was Davao’s initial answer in reclaiming Roxas as its own space for peace.
