Last November 10-16, 2016, a delegation of Colombian IP leaders went to the Philippines on a learning exchange visit and interacted with a broad mix of audience and policy institutions. This exchange trip was born out of an interest to compare and possibly learn from similar experiences in two of the main peace processes between the FARC and the Government of Colombia, and the one between the CPP/NDF/NPA and the Philippine Government (GRP).
Apart from exploring and learning the nexus of the Colombian and Philippine peace process in general terms, this exchange visit highlighted the stories of inclusion shared by the Colombian IP representatives and how their issues where seriously discussed at the negotiations table.
This joint undertaking was done in coordination with the Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution (NOREF) with the Philippine organizers : the Initiatives for International Dialogue (IID), Katawhang Lumad Council of the Mindanao Peoples Peace Movement (KL-MPPM), and Tebtebba.
