What we do

TRANSFORM Program

Addressing the long-standing historical injustices and identity-based conflicts that continue to impact Moro, Indigenous Peoples, and settler communities across the Bangsamoro and Mindanao. These unresolved issues—land dispossession, discrimination, violent conflict, and stalled transitional justice—demand community-driven solutions grounded on rights, accountability, and inclusive engagement.

The TRANSFORM Program addresses the long-standing historical injustices and identity-based conflicts that continue to impact Moro, Indigenous Peoples, and settler communities across the Bangsamoro and wider Mindanao. These unresolved issues—land dispossession, discrimination, violent conflict, and stalled transitional justice—demand community-driven solutions grounded on rights, accountability, and inclusive engagement.

TRANSFORM strengthens capacities of youth and women leaders, internally displaced families, and grassroots organizations so they can document their experiences, articulate their community agendas, and actively participate in transitional justice, normalization, and land rights advocacy. Through targeted training, accompaniment, and leadership development, we help local actors gain the negotiation, lobbying, and policy engagement skills needed to influence institutions and create meaningful change.

IID envisions empowered community leaders who can champion their people’s rights and shape policy decisions that directly affect their lives. Beyond individual leadership growth, TRANSFORM nurtures collective action and lasting networks. We accompany platforms such as Marawi Advocacy Accompaniment, Kaakbay Bangsamoro, Local Advisory Groups, and emerging land advocacy networks, helping them work collaboratively with BARMM ministries, national government agencies, and peace mechanisms. Together, these networks address critical issues such as housing, land, and property disputes; IDP protection; transitional justice; and equitable land governance.

Through research, direct engagement, policy advocacy, and sustained dialogue, TRANSFORM pushes for institutional recognition of transitional justice, land rights, and community-driven reforms. The program contributes to long-term peace, accountability, and the restoration of dignity for the communities most affected by conflict in Mindanao.
